Need To Know

North 27th lane restriction starts today

Southbound North 27th Street from W to Vine streets will have an outside lane closure today from 8:30 AM to 3 PM for utility work. The city says travelers should seek an alternate route and use caution around the work zone.

The short closure lands while other east Lincoln work from Tuesday is still scheduled to clear today or Thursday, weather permitting. If your route uses 27th, Adams, or North 56th, check the city closure list before leaving.

Nebraska softball's WCWS opener is set

Nebraska softball will open the Women's College World Series against Arkansas at 8:30 PM Thursday in Oklahoma City. Nebraska Athletics lists the Huskers as the No. 4 overall seed and Arkansas as the No. 5 seed.

This is Nebraska's eighth Women's College World Series appearance and its first since 2013. The late start makes it a Thursday night watch item for Husker fans, with baseball's Lincoln Regional following Friday at Hawks Field.
