Property valuation protests open Monday
Lancaster County property owners who disagree with their assessed value can file a formal protest from June 1 through June 30. County guidance says protests filed before June 1 or postmarked after June 30 can't be accepted as timely.
The county says protests can be filed online, by mail, by fax, by email, or in person with the County Clerk. Each protest needs a property description, signature, requested valuation amount, and a written explanation for the requested change. If you're planning to challenge a valuation, this weekend is the time to gather comparable sales, appraisals, photos, or other supporting documents.
