Lincoln's proposed city budget for fiscal years 2026 through 2028 would keep the city property tax rate just under 30 cents per $100 of valuation while increasing the tax-funded budget to about $316.6 million in the first year and $334.6 million in the second year.

The proposal prioritizes public safety staffing, roads and sidewalks, public transit, affordable housing, and major projects including the new Central Library, Project O Street, Canopy Yard, a multimodal transportation center, and improvements to the airport entryway corridor.
