Need To Know

Downtown land deal lines up two major projects

Lincoln and Lancaster County officials announced multiple agreements to exchange downtown properties, a step that would advance plans for StarTran's new multi-modal transportation center and the county's proposed convention center. The agreements still need City Council approval.

The practical effect is that two long-running downtown projects are moving from planning into property and construction logistics. If you work near the County-City Building or use downtown transit, keep watching for Council action and parking or access updates around the 10th, 11th, L, and N street area.
