Need To Know

North Lincoln hotel is a total loss after fire

The Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites near 27th and Superior streets is considered a total loss after a Monday evening fire that brought a large Lincoln Fire and Rescue response. Crews were called around 6:50 p.m., searched the building, then moved to a defensive attack after part of the roof began to collapse.

No injuries were reported, but guests were displaced and many belongings were left inside. The cause remains under investigation, and the practical takeaway is simple for that corner of north Lincoln: expect the site to stay an active fire and damage scene while crews and investigators work through the building.
