Hot Wednesday, late storms remain in play

Lincoln gets another hot day Wednesday, with the National Weather Service calling for a high near 94 F and gusts up to 31 mph after a slight early storm chance. The active heat advisory was for Tuesday, but the city health department's heat guidance still applies: use air-conditioned spaces when needed, drink water before you're thirsty, and check on people at higher risk.

The next planning window is late Wednesday into Thursday morning. Local forecasts show another chance for storms overnight, with large hail, damaging wind, and heavy rain as the main concerns if storms develop near Lincoln. Keep a way to receive warnings overnight.
